There he was Alan Arndt wins it at 70 net. Richard Brooks is back in town and took 2nd place like he never left with a 72 net. He beat out Phil Weidemann who also had 72 net but lost out to Richard on a scorecard playoff. Phil gets 3rd place and Eugene Disque scored the Atta Boy with a 73 net. Nice scores and beautiful weather today.

More about the Jim O’Keefe cup.
The Jim O’Keefe Cup is Ryder Cup-style tournament played each year between the VGA and the Saturday Golf League. The tournament consists of single matches and four-ball matches. The inaugural tournament was played in the fall of 2016. The cup is named in honor of Jim O’Keefe a long-time member who served as treasurer of the VGA for 20 years and also served on the VGA Board for many years. Jim passed away in March of 2016. This year will a Gross score Tournament.
A golfer was having a terrible round – 20-over par for the front nine with scores of balls lost in water or rough. When his caddie then coughed as he steadied himself over a 12-inch putt on the 10th, he lost it.
“You’ve got to be the worst caddie in the world!” he yelled.
“I doubt it,” replied the caddie, dead-pan. “That would be too much of a coincidence.”
My favorite VGA golfer won today. Me of course, Harley Ewing won it with a 67 net score after taking a 10 on # 18. Some days it just works you know? Larry Burton was second one stroke of the pace at 68 net. Neal Fisel was third at 69 net with Tom Hebert and Dan Campos sharing the Atta Boy at 70 net. Cart path only and tall grass made the course a lot tougher than normal. Recent reseeding.

Al Dan blasted the field by 7 strokes today to win the Stonecreek event. Nice job Al, well done. Tom Giljum, Phil Weidemann, and George Kowalchik finish tied at 73 net. Tom got 2nd, Phil got third and George gets the Atta Boy, all on the Scorecard playoff. I have no idea what the playing condition out there, but pretty high scores for most of the field suggest tough at the very least.

Sorry, not much to report on today. We were in the 7th and last group today and it hit us on the 6th hole. The course gave us rain check money and VGA gave it all back. Oh well another rainy day in AZ. See everyone Wednesday at Viewpoint. To bad for Craig Wise heard he had birdies going today.

First place today was Neal Fisel scoring a 65 net. 2nd place went to Danny the Legend Clark at 67 net. George Kowalchik captured 3rd with a 68 net. Atta Boy goes to Fred Baldwin and Mike Roether tied at 70 nets. Nice to see Dave Dean back out and rejoining VGA again. Although his score did not count for the VGA event, he had a pretty good 78 Gross and 4-5 birds to go with it too. Welcome back Dave.
Birds for today.

Winner today is Rich Golz with a 66 net, followed by Dan Delgado at 68 net for second place. Third place goes to Ron Gunderson tied with Dan at 68 net but taking third on the scorecard playoff. Bill Heller and Tony Rodriquez take home the Atta Boy tied at 69 nets. Way to go guys hope you enjoyed it and hopefully see some of you at Arizona Biltmore Links Wednesday.

First place today goes to Phil Weidemann with a 68 net score. Judging from Phil’s early work I predict he will compete well if he plays enough in 2019 Big Dogs Competition. Same for Warren Meehan who got 2nd place at 70 net. Eugene Disque finished in 3rd place at 71 net. Mike Roether and Rusty Silverman, whose been kicking some butt lately tied for the Atta Boy award at 72 net.
