It appeared it might be another raining and blowing day out there today, but apparently not. Tony said it rained a little around tee off time then quit and didn’t rain again during the event. Bet against rain in AZ and you’re a winner most of the time. By all reports the Falcon Dunes track is a great one so be sure to play it when you get a chance. Who is this guy Al Dan? He won another one. Today he got 1st place money with a 67 net, and well done Al. 2nd place went to Kevin Gilmore at 69 net and 3rd place went to the Golden Lad from PV, Rusty Silverman at 70 net. Nice work guys and thanks for having the courage to come out with the bad weather predicted. VGA wishes you all a Happy New Year and we trust to see you all next year at Legacy Wednesday. Don’t forget to renew your dues tonight. Save $5 bucks if you do. Rest of the field scores below.
Next event for VGA, Wednesday, January 4, 2017 Legacy – shotgun 8:30 $53.00.
Ken “Wild Thing” Baca takes the 1st place prize today at Palmbrook with a stunning 64 net. Great job Kenny. Second place goes to Kevin Gilmore at 66 net, two strokes off Ken’s winning pace. Now it gets interesting, Tom “No Shoes” Hecocks took third place but some how he was too fugal to get in the prize pot. He got some birdie money but not 3rd place money. Two guys were tied at 68, Fred “Steady Freddy” Baldwin got the third place money on a scorecard playoff with Chris Ray. Chris, sorry you got the Atta-a-Boy. Rest of the field below.

A slightly wet beginning but the rain never really came through. Winners today were Dwain Moore in first with a 62 net. Oddly enough another 62 was scored and Eddie Little scored that. Eddie got second on the scorecard playoff. Tied at 65 nets were New comer Robert Inman, he got 3rd on the scorecard playoff and Dave Dean got the Atta-a-Boy sorry Dave. Rest of the field below. It will be Christmas Eve but Viewpoint on Saturday will be a fun precursor to the big day.

Ben Hughes a big hitter came up with a big game and won at Pueblo El Mirage today with a 67 net. Ben tops 4 other golfers who tied at 68 net. They were Jeff Currie who got 2nd on the scorecard playoff, Ryan Lockart who got 3rd via playoff, and Tony Dalton and “Mr Cheese” John Pierce shared the split Atta-a-Boy award. Lots of ties in there today. Great job guys hope it wasn’t too windy out there and see you all Wednesday at Western Skies in Gilbert. Rest of the field’s scores below,

I really like ASU Karsten. It’s really a fun but frustrating course to play. If you play from the wrong tees even more frustrating. DQed but unbowed my group played on and had a great day. Golf gods were not happy. Oh well, next. Winner today was none other than Rich Golz with a 71 net. Way to go Rich. Second place to John Euler at 74 net. Third place to back from Utah to enjoy the Winter, Bob Brown. Well done Bob. Rest of the field below.
Next up for VGA, Saturday, December 17, 2016 Cave Creek City Card 8:30:00 AM $49.00

Two players tied at 67 net, Dan “The Legend” Clark got 3rd place on the scorecard playoff and Rusty “Golden boy” Silverman scored an Atta-a-Boy for his efforts. Rest of the scores below. Doug Patterson, if he keeps up the pace he will soon earn a nickname on the website. He won again with 66 net at the Biltmore Links course today. Nice work Doug, you are playing well my friend. Tom Giljum got second place one stroke off the lead at 67 net. Two players tied at 69 net and they were Fred Baldwin and Dave Dean. Course Steady Freddy won on the scorecard playoff for third and Dave got the Atta-a-Boy. Following are the rest of the field’s scores. Featured picture of the day would be my group of Dan Christiansen, Doug Rankin, and Tony Dalton on the 18th hole. Fun playing with those guys.
Next event up for VGA, Saturday, December 10, 2016 Union Hills 8:30:00 AM $45.00
Interesting scoring today. Neal Fisel playing one of his better rounds of the year maybe the best, scored 65 net to win first place at Western Skies today. Great work Neal. Second place goes the man who epitomizes the word steady, Tim Haight with a 66 net. Tim you were steady as a rock. Third place goes to a hero of sorts playing with a badly torn shoulder and the best round I’ve seen him play in awhile, Grady McEachern gets third at 67 net and not in the pot so no dough. His cart partner Steve Richter got the 3rd place money at 69 net. Great job Grady you played well today indeed. Hope you guys enjoyed Western Skies today. I live close by and they have made the course a lot better in my opinion. The turf and greens were in great shape and I look forward to playing there later this month. Full field scores below.
